At 6 weeks of age, puppies are developmentally ready to begin early training. During the 6 - 8 week stage, a puppy is ready to start training for positive associations and understandings - not formal obedience. Early conditioning, calm exposure, and tiny routines lay the groundwork for a puppy who transitions easily, adapts with confidence, and takes to future training with an equipped readiness. We offer these early-exposure training experiences as à‑la‑carte add‑ons, separate from the cost of the puppy. Training sessions are tailored to the personality of each puppy and each puppy is trained individually. Fees cover 14 days of one-on-one training between the puppy and personal handler, as well as progress reports, tip sheets, and any accessories that will go home with puppy.
Let us know if you would like to add an à‑la‑carte menu item to your Essential Puppy Package!
This is our most extensive à‑la‑carte item. By the end of the 2 week training program, puppy should be able to crate-up on command, wait quietly for release, and ultimately crate up to 6 hours through the night without accidents. Puppy will also learn to potty outside, making the house-breaking process even easier on puppy's arrival home. Puppies learn that the crate is a safe, predictable place to rest. We use gentle exposure, quiet settling, and reward‑based routines to encourage confidence and reduce fussing. These early habits make nighttime sleep, house training, and travel far easier for new families and their puppy. On take-home day, families will be equipped with a progress report and a tip-sheet which includes a key to verbal commands used with their puppy and instructions on continuing crate-training at home. Puppy will also go home with their personal crate-training blanket and the soothing toy used during crate-time.
Puppies begin learning loose‑leash walking through gentle exposure, reward‑based guidance, and short practice sessions. Training sessions teach puppies to walk calmly without pulling, resisting, or crossing the handler's path. These early habits support calm walks, better focus, and easier transitions into family routines. On take-home day, families will be equipped with a progress report, which includes a key to verbal commands used with puppy, as well as puppy's personal training collar and leash.
Puppies undergo early travel training that pairs daily drives with comfort and reassurance. This shapes a puppy who rides quietly, confidently, and independently in the seat and in the crate. This conditioning helps puppy acclimate to unpredictable motion and sounds: the stops, turns, and sways, the ticks, hums and honks that trigger anxiety and motion sickness. Daily drives include both city and country driving with physical comfort and rewards-based encouragement. For the safety of the puppies, they will not exit the vehicle at any time during their excursion. On take-home day, families will be equipped with a travel training progress report, which includes a key to verbal commands used with their puppy. Puppy will also go home with their personal comfort blanket that was used on their daily outings.
